08:09 AM ET 04.24 | As goodbyes go, this was no fond farewell evening in the Garden State. As the Nets prepared for their final home game in New Jersey after 35 years in the state, Governor Chris Christie made it clear he will not be shedding any tears over the team's departure next season for Brooklyn. Speaking at a bill signing Monday in Newark, the outspoken Christie had a simple message for the Nets: "Good riddance. See you later." A few hours later, the Nets lost their final home game in the Prudential Center 105-87 to the Philadelphia 76ers. The Nets close their fifth consecutive losing season Thursday at the Toronto Raptors.

Talk about no loyalty to a sports team. He is lucky that the GIANT/JETS are still there.

The Team Will Still Smell The Same, Bro.

QUOTE(#9):

This governor sure is dumb. Maybe that's how you feel but how about the future of New Jersey when they want an NBA team in the future?

The residents of New Jersey rarely supported the team even when they were a good team with Jason Kidd, Kenyon Martin and Kerry Kittles.

Christie is a loser. In five years he'll be dead from heart disease and will be remembered as a selfish dolt who wasted taxpayer money on chopper rides to Little League games, while New Jersey NBA fans will forever not have a team.

On top of being an ignorant slob, Christie has no class.

You dont get as fat Christy on sour grapes alone...

LMAO. I can see you're the expert on "class". :-)

Christie is a perfect example of do as I say, not as I do. He expects people to live by standards he himself will never attempt and put down those who disagree even if it means cutting off the noses of those who elected him.

He answers to pockets not people and should find his way into the white house mix sooner or later without looking back at Jersey himself. Difference is he is paid by residents to look out for them, the Nets aren't.

April 24, 2012  10:49 AM ET

Yeah, good riddance to revenue and jobs, not to mention income tax from inflated player salaries! We don't need that crap in NJ!

Mr. Christie, you're an idiot.

Actually, Christie is ticked-off that they're leaving. But like a child, he choose to 'spit' at them on their way out.

Bottom line.....the Nets was a source of jobs and tax revanue.......and Christie didn't want to lose that!

You didn't know?

Christie eats ham fat......and sour grapes ;-)

Citizens of NJ will be saying the same thing when he slogs his way out of the Governor's mansion.

Christie will still use the state helicopter and fly over to Brooklyn to watch them. Oh wait, he'll be out of office by the time that happens.
