08:17 AM ET 04.24 | April has been quite a month for Ohio State recruiting. [Head coach] Urban Meyer and his staff have gained eight commitments to the Ohio State recruiting class of 2013, with one of the top defensive end prospects in the country -- Joey Bosa of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. -- adding his pledge [Monday]. ... [The] Buckeyes have 13 for '13, headed toward a class that likely will number about 20 come February. In the past two weeks, OSU also has landed other prize recruits. J.T. Barrett of Wichita Falls, Texas, is rated by one recruiting service as the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback prospect; Alex Anzalone of Wyomissing, Pa., is a premier linebacker recruit; and Marcus Baugh of Riverside, Calif., is among the best tight ends nationally.

What's up ICE? Got high expectations for this coming season?

Should be fun to watch that police blotter grow as it did during Urban's tenure with the Gators.

It will be interesting to see Ohio State transition to the spread offense.

If by "interesting" you mean "sickening", then yes, it will be "interesting."

As much as I liked to complain about the "vanilla" offense Tressel ran, I still loved the idea that everyone watching the game KNEW we were gonna run, and more often than not, we would run successfully.

And as much as I complained about our offense, I ridiculed the opposing team for playing "small ball" and the "okay let's look like we are ready to run a play, then look over to the coaches to see if we can actually run that play or not, then okay lets get ready to play" gimmick offense. I HATE THAT and now the team I root for will be playing that same exact garbage.

I just hope when Meyer leaves in 3-4 yrs, he will leave enough good talent tOSU will be able to rebound quickly.

Its not that Meyer will take all their recruits that will be the problem...I can see Meyer running up the score (if he gets the chance?!) that will be pizzing people off.

They should be used to that with Wisconsin.

Too bad football isn't played on paper.

The one thing that annoyed me about Tressell's coaching style was that he wouldn't put his foot on the neck of an opponent when we had him down. I grew tired of seeing an aggressive play in the first half get buttoned down in the second half and let the team back in the game. Meyer will win big if he can and I like that. Somewhere between now and Woody Hayes we had lost that edge (I remember Woody going for 2 versus Michigan ahead 50-14...when asked why he went for 2 with such a big lead he said: "because I couldn't for for 3!"). Yes, he'll have Beliema and others crying foul.

Ain't nothin' wrong with "small ball" as long as you don't play "small defense". Meyer's had pretty good defenses at BG, Utah and UF from what I remember.

You have Urban in Columbus for only 3 or 4 years? Interesting.

April 24, 2012  09:19 AM ET

2013 is a long way off if one uses the Urban Meyer timeline. He may have resigned and come back two or three times by then.
