08:05 AM ET 04.25 | One day after a report suggested he was losing his team, Vinny Del Negro turned up the heat. [Del Negro] wasn't happy with his team, going off on players after a lackluster effort against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night. "They outworked us. They outrebounded us," Del Negro said. "They got loose balls. We didn't really give ourselves a chance. ... I didn't think our starters were very good. I didn't think our bench was very good and that's what you get." ... The Clippers knew they needed just one more victory to get the home-court advantage over Memphis in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Now the Clippers have to beat New York on Wednesday night to start the best-of-seven series at Staples Center this weekend.

He should be worried. The Clippers are going to need to do the little things and work hard to win the battle on the hustle plays to beat the blue-collar Grizzlies in the first round.

Clippers beat the Grizzlies two games to one. If they keep that average going, they could win the series four games to two!

The threads today are pretty dismal.

vinny will never be a great coach

Vinny will never be a great coach. He at best will be a journeyman coach, moving from team to team, never getting close to a championship.

VDN, has a great team. Bad luck about his poor coaching. He complains about players taking cheap shots at Blake Griffin. Last year he was the cheap shot coach, telling his players to commit the hard fouls which hurt many opponents. He needs 3 point guards on his team, so it saves him from making a decision.

It shouldn't be a problem... as long as they promise not to foul Griffin too hard.

Well I guess the Clips need to prepare themselves to be visiting the Grizz because if it takes a win against the Knicks to starve this off.....it just ain't happening baby. NY has the NBA in a state of shock cause were ready to rock. The Knicks will be pounding and rebounding, Shump will be wheelin and stealin, Chandler will be hopping and shot blockin, Amare will pumpin and dunkin, Davis will be peeling and stealin, Fields will be slashin and dashin, Melo will be runnin and gunnin while the Knicks bench will be styling and smilin while Frazier will be generating some exciting commentating.

Grizzlies still have to beat the Magic to take over number four. Clippers have the tie breaker!
