08:06 AM ET 04.25 | In the short term, Dwight Howard's convalescence will keep him from Orlando. You have a better chance of seeing Dwight Howard at a Lakers or Clippers playoff game than you do at Magic playoff game. Dwight, who had routine back surgery in Los Angeles last week, apparently will not be on the bench for any of the Magic's playoff games and likely will spend another three weeks on the West Coast. ... This is yet another clear indication that Dwight and the Magic are officially separated and will soon file for divorce. Dwight did not attend Magic games right before he had surgery and will not attend Magic games after he's had the surgery. This can only lead us to believe Dwight does not want to be a part of any team coached by Stan Van Gundy.

The part that bothers me is that the fans of Orlando sat through some pretty bad years as Howard was developing as a player. Now he is dominant, his contract is coming to the end, and he is screwing up the entire franchise and fan base. Awesome. When a person signs a contract the intent is to complete the job, not get close to the end and start leveraging an advantage out of it.
