Time UCLA turns to QB of the future

08:18 AM ET 04.26 | The departure of Rick Neuheisel didn't settle UCLA's quarterbacking issues. Kevin Prince and Richard Brehaut never could stay healthy and bring consistency to the position the last few years, and the inept offense under coordinators Norm Chow and Mike Johnson is one of the big reasons why athletic director Dan Guerrero made a change at head coach. As disappointing as the defense played, the offense never gave the team a chance to win consistently. Prince and Brehaut remain in Westwood and are options to start the season opener, but Brett Hundley is the future at the position. And it's time that [Jim Mora Jr.] and new offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone make him No. 1 on the depth chart sooner rather than later.

I'd be happy if the Vols earn a similar assessment this year.... vis a vis East/West instead of North/South.

UGa fit that description in the SEC East last year.

USCe did it better in 2010, tho.

Yes, Brent Hunxley is the QB of the future at UCLA, but what kind of idiot suggestion is it to say he should just start now because he's gonna start later? There's a pecking order at UCLA and everybody better get in line. Huxley is just one spot behind Jerry Neuheisal, and he needs to earn his spot and move up as time moves forward. Right now Prince knows the offense better than anyone else, and Brehaut is the best QB on the team, it seems like I've been hearing those 2 names at UCLA for the past 5 years, how old were these guys when they first started starting? I think that was the mistake to start with. Stick with veterans and let them lead, you can't start kids and expect to win consistently.

UCLA runs a college student athletic program. They cannot compete w/ USC because USC gathers up all the 4 and 5 star recruits in that geographic area. There aren't enough studs to
go around. Then again, USC runs an NFL type football program. I don't see UCLA competing against USC any time soon. The only recent UCLA grad to make an NFL impact is Jones-Drew.
You see the difference btw the 2 programs right there.

And that was because SCum had to stay home and serve yet another penalty for ONCE again cheating.

LA has an NFL team ... and Southern Cal's payroll probably is higher than some NFL teams.

Kudos to you for one thing, however: it is Mora, nor Mora, Jr. Well done.
