08:22 AM ET 04.26 | Welcome back, Rayvonte Rice. [Rice] will be playing in front of a hometown crowd again. The former Centennial star guard will transfer from Drake to Illinois, according to sources. His eligibility at Illinois is expected to begin in 2013 for two seasons. He averaged 16.5 points and 5.7 rebounds as a sophomore for the Bulldogs. Rice, who is Centennial's all-time leading scorer, was a runnerup for the 2010 Mr. Illinois Basketball award and won the 2009-10 Gatorade Illinois Boys Basketball Player of the Year award. His future teams were obviously happy with the news. Guard Brandon Paul tweeted: "illinination please welcome our newest member to the family, Champaign's very own Rayvonte Rice!"

If the kid is that good why's he going to Drake to begin with? Illinois player of the year didnt have BT offers? Good for him getting back home. The Hoosiers are going to slap the Illini twice this year regardless.
