08:17 AM ET 04.27 | Keep an eye on Heath Bell, the Marlins $27 million closer who on Thursday blew his third save in five tries. Bell entered Thursday with a 2-1 lead and couldn't protect it. He walked four of the first five batters he faced, the latter of those to Justin Turner in a 13-pitch at-bat. "He could only throw [his] fastball for a strike," manager Ozzie Guillen said. "Everything else, he couldn't find the plate with." Bell said he wasn't as off target as it might have seemed. He said the advance scouting report on the Mets was that they were aggressive hitters and chased bad pitches, and that he purposely bounced several pitches in the dirt hoping they would swing. But the Mets refused to bite.

Bell is full of it......I watched that ninth inning ...he walked 4 guys because he couldn't throw his curve ball for a strike....when he did put it over he was lucky the Mets can't hit to save their lives because those curve balls were hangers that had "crush me " written all over them ....

Big difference closing in San Diego and now with him getting all that $$$$ ...the pressure is on Heath ...hope you can or actually can't handle it........

Must have thought he still pitched for The Mets and was supposed to do that.

This is a shame. I watched Bell is San Diego for several years. He is a great guy, and great pitcher. Those big contracts get into guys heads. Look at Pujols. He is 0-20 or something close to it. Heath will turn it around. He has too much pride to let things stay the same.

Heath Bell looks like a real cholo in that picture above.

I've got the best closers on my fantasy team. They're kicking some major butt: Nathan, Bell, Bailey and Farnsworth. Two can't get on the field and the two that do, should probably get off it.

Miami needs new scouts. The Mets are one of the more patient teams in the league.

I watched the 9th also - Bell couldn't get his fastball over half the time either...

He looks like he's been spending alot of his new found $$$ at the buffet.

Who else the Fish got to close out games?

Appears to be another failed attempt at buying a championship. It was obvious from the get -go the Marlins and Angels way overpaid / over estimated the future performances of their FA guns for hire. Seemed the goal was more about having some famous names to fire up the season ticket sales.Solid teams are built, not bought.

Another overrated signing by the Marlins....no wonder they're in last place. Overhyped...

Is it just me or is there some bad karma going around for the bill money guys? Look around Baseball and see all the big big dollar guys not getting hits or wins. Even when Wilson pitched well the Angels only one one of his games.
