Thomas' comments suggest one skate is out the door

08:27 AM ET 04.27 | By using word choice as a guide, it seems Tim Thomas quickly distanced himself from the Bruins. [Thomas] noticeably used the pronoun "they" -- not "we" -- when discussing his Bruins teammates at multiple points after Boston's Game 7 loss to the Washington Capitals. The 38-year-old goaltender, who is clearly intent on being viewed as an individual first and foremost, was good but not spectacular in his team's 2-1 loss to the Capitals. ... Thomas now enters an offseason filled with the unknown. He's entering the final year of his contract, and his no-trade clause expires this offseason. Plus, the Bruins will likely have 25-year-old Tuukka Rask (a restricted free agent) waiting in the wings.

You can read too much into the we and they stuff. What really counts is what came after the pronoun. Did he say "They" played with a lot of heart or was it "they" played like crap in front of me?

True. Much like fun with numbers, fun with words can mean something entirely different.

well if they dont get Luongo they will have to trade that pick for something. Toronto doesn't like having first round picks.

And they have those star-spangled-red, white and blue uniforms. Seriously. though, the WH snub thing is BS, how many Americans on the Bruins roster? Do the Canadians and Europeans really care about American politics? Yeah, it was a team thing, but the political side of it is all media hype and gullible people feeding off of it.

Is TT gone? I doubt it, at least until maybe trade deadline next year. Boston wouldn't get much of a return this year. The only benefit would be to clear cap space.

The WH thing was big because Thomas put himself above the team. Look, I'm sure that there were a lot of people who didn't agree with Bush's policies when they met at the WH during the last decade. Why?

You do everything as a team and not put yourself above the team. Thomas decided his politics were more important than the team. Wrong answer.

Rask is ready, there is about 2 mil in cap that would be freed up because Rask will probably get a 3 mil range contract. they have a lot of kids coming up but could use another veteran presence in the locker-room and the cap space would be nice to spend on that.

He gone.
