09:40 AM ET 04.28 | But there is another side to this high-profile showdown, another superstar whose reputation is on the line, or should be, in the best-of-seven series that will begin Saturday afternoon in Miami. The argument can be made that It is hardly a strain to argue that the compelling first-round matchup between the Knicks and the Miami Heat is largely about the baggage strapped onto the backs of LeBron James and Company as they begin the 2012 postseason. Carmelo Anthony has more to prove than James over the next 10 days to two weeks. He and the Knicks have to get out of the first round, or come darn close, if there is to be a positive spin put on the season for player and team alike.

They have nothing to prove, they are both losers

Can someone explain to me how the Hawks are the 5th seed but get homecourt over the Celtics? That makes no sense. If they have a better record then they should be the 4th seed right?

Watch out for the Jazz though. That might be a bad match up for the Spurs. I got every game being close. Maybe they can steal one on the road. If not, then it will be a short series.

I think the rule is that theremust be 3 division winners in the first 4 seeds, but hawks has better record so they get the home court

We both picked the same teams to win, just in different numbers. Lol. But i don't think see any sweeps like you do. I think the Magic are still going to play hard & the Sixers are always tough at home.

Oh ok. It makes sense now.

Well whats the point of giving all four division winners a top seed if they're not going to get homecourt? Lol. Seems pretty pointless to me.

A positive spin on the season for the Knicks is that they HAVE a postseason.
But I hope NY fans don't become shocked if the Knicks get ousted in the first round quickly.
