10:13 AM ET 04.28 | The Angels made two dramatic moves after a 3-2 walk-off loss to the Cleveland Indians Friday night, releasing veteran outfielder Bobby Abreu and swallowing the remainder of his $9-million contract while promoting dynamic young outfielder Mike Trout from triple-A Salt Lake. Both Manager Mike Scioscia and General Manager Jerry Dipoto said Trout, the speedy 20-year-old who was batting .403 at Salt Lake and can play all three outfield spots, will play every day, and there is a good chance he will be inserted into the leadoff spot. "We want to add a little energy, add a little spice," said Dipoto, who joined the team in Cleveland on Friday night. "We're trying to shake it up a little."

it seems it won't need anything like a rivarly, because the halos are very confortable at the basement,,, since nobody likes that spot,,, the halos would stay there for the whole season,,,,,

its called they don't have a teacher, who could straight them up,,, they don't have a mentor in the hitting side,,, we know this guys can hit, the thing in here its,, when would they decide to hit and for how long should they hit?? for now they just seat and chat, maybe they should ask for advice from the bench where every player seats!!!

April 28, 2012  12:56 PM ET

its a terrible thing,, releasing abreu and getting nothing in return,,,,, what a way of making business, then after all itsn't my money, should teams learn from the halos mistakes? or better, should teams learn from the red sox long term deals mistakes??

reeling? i think they are worse than a train wreck, mike sciocia NEEDS, to stop playing pujols at least one game, or he needs to move him at to the ninth spot, why??? well it could give pujols a breathing room!!!

April 28, 2012  01:02 PM ET

two dramatic moves uhh?? well now the halos need to move two coaches from their hitting and pitching side,,, can't continue waiting untill the year of the rat!!!

April 28, 2012  01:04 PM ET

shake things up?? then the angels should shake their hitting staff once and for all,,,,,,,,,,, shake things up,,, come on!!!!!

April 28, 2012  01:05 PM ET

mikew trout would need to hit a homerun in every at bat,,, can he afford that?? doubtfull, but then again he could inject some needed motivation to the lineup!!!!

April 28, 2012  01:09 PM ET

this team, needs more than a simple 5 hits per game, needs to score more than just 3 or 5 lousy runs per game, needs to explode their offense, needs to use the simple approach, stop searching for homeruns only, use the small ball approach, bunt singles let the pitcher smoke you body, perhaps that would WAKE you UP, but try something already!!!
