10:17 AM ET 04.29 | What could possibly wipe the smiles off the faces of new Dodgers owners Magic Johnson, Stan Kasten and Mark Walter? How about the Angels moving into a new ballpark in downtown Los Angeles, three miles from Dodger Stadium? As the Dodgers emerge from bankruptcy, the most compelling baseball story in town might well involve how the Dodgers and Angels handle their aging ballparks. AEG is the local expert at building and financing sports facilities. Several of the Dodgers bidders spoke with AEG about a possible new ballpark. Magic and Co. did not. Arte Moreno apparently did. Moreno, the Angels' owner, and Angels Chairman Dennis Kuhl met this month with AEG President Tim Leiweke, a meeting first reported by the Daily News. Neither AEG nor the Angels would discuss the meeting. Moreno was traveling and unavailable to discuss his stadium plans, Angels spokesman Tim Mead said. However, the Angels can exercise an escape clause in their stadium lease in 2016. If they do not, they must remain in Anaheim until 2029.

Dodgers may want to starting winning some games now or they'll be the 3rd favorite team in LA to see.. the other two are the Angels and the Padres

How about they just share Dodger Stadium and rename it Chavez Ravine Stadium

...I'm sure the people of Anaheim will have something to say about this especially the way they have supported their team....and their stadium isn't that old

LA will always be the Dodgers town!!! It doesn't ready matter if the Angels move downtown or not!!!! Also if you forgot, the "Padres" reside in San Diego!!!!!

I live half way between Downtown L.A. And Anaheim but prefer the Anaheim drive. Slightly less traffic and secure parking. Plus where in L.A. would there be room to build a stadium?

They did that years ago and it didn't work, I doubt it will work now!!!!

April 29, 2012  11:46 AM ET

i think every baseball team, should get their own stadium,,, truth owner, and real goals, should be achievements acomplished by their own owner by each franchise!!!!

April 29, 2012  11:48 AM ET

should the angels purchase their own property to build their own stadium??? should the owner pay from his own pucket the 500 millions stadium and where would they would like to builded??

April 29, 2012  11:50 AM ET

now that the team has signed the deal with the fox television network, i believe this is the right time to invest for the angels franchise!!!

April 29, 2012  11:51 AM ET

They should concentrate on winning Baseball Games, if they keep this up, they will get thrown out of California, and wind up on Brooklyn!!! Great Chemistry, this team can't stand each other!!!

April 29, 2012  11:52 AM ET

should the halos focus on their earlier collapse in the regular season???? or forget the season and focused on the new stadium plan???

April 29, 2012  11:57 AM ET

well, nobody would invest in such big long term deal, just to put it in hold,,,, the halos need to find the solution on how to win conssistaly, now if the team its able to turn things into the right direction, then the franchise could focus in the next plan,,, other than that, they really need to concentrate in wining games, winning series, the angels pitching its there, their problem remains in their OFFENSE,,,,

April 29, 2012  12:00 PM ET

the halos new that, their closer spot was incomplete, walden can't hold or save any games right now, he still lacks in experience, he needs to endured and needs to mature, once this player gets to be funtion in full 8 cilinders, then the manager should give walden the responsability of closing games!!!

that's what i said,,,,

April 29, 2012  12:07 PM ET

this halos need to send their starters to pitch the whole game, the starters can't trust their bullpen, hawkins tend to give runs, takahashi its no longer a pitcher who could hold leads any more,, ieserausen walks too many hitters and give runs right away, and walden can't be trusted because, he would surrended a home run right away as well, walden can only pitch if,, the angels are winning by ten runs or by 5 runs, or he can pitch if, the team its losing the game by ten runs!!!

April 29, 2012  12:11 PM ET

the halos, are in need of a natural third baseman, evan longoria would fit perfectly, the halos need a catcher who could and should have the ability to call the right games conssistaly, it not matter if that catcher hasn't any good offense, as long he has great deffense and has the capabilities in calling the games that should be more than enough, about the offense, let the rest of the lineup to take care of that!!!!

LOL, good point and why in the hell would the town of LA want the Halos?????

April 29, 2012  12:14 PM ET

the halos, have done the wrong decission, the wrong choices, when you are incorrect in trading a good catcher, or when you bring another catcher from outside it seems that most likely won't work,,,,,

April 29, 2012  12:18 PM ET

about the closer role, they need to add a closer from outside, who could be the right pitcher to be the halos closer?? there are not that many available, should scott downs be their permanent closer? or should the halos take a tour towards japan and get a colid and reliable pitcher that can close games??
