Don't blame schedule for Rose, Shumpert ACLs

08:11 AM ET 04.30 | Even Knicks coach Mike Woodson pointed a finger in the direction of the NBA's compressed schedule for the weekend injuries. With [Derrick Rose] and the Knicks' Iman Shumpert both tearing anterior cruciate ligaments on Saturday, many rushed to judge the compacted, 66-game schedule born from the lockout. But those two injuries raised this season's total to four torn ACLs. Over the last five 82-game seasons, the league has averaged 4.8. "Everybody's data, not just ours, shows this version of ACL-injury -- non-contact -- is an injury of explosion. It's essentially violence you're committing on your own knee," said Dr. David Altchek. ... "It could possibly relate to other injuries, but not really to the ACL."

My feeling is that Rose was never allowed to fully recover from his first injury. All his injuries have been to his lower extremities. The body needs time to heal and rehab. Hopefully in 6 to 9 months the rest of his body will mend, and he will come back 100%. Players want to get back as soon as possible. Doctors and trainers need to just say no.

I don't know what fan base has been hit harder this weekend.....

The Bulls fans for losing their Knight in shining armor Rose for the Playoffs...
The Celtics fans for the possibility of losing rondo for a game
Or The Memphis fans because the Grizz Blew the Biggest Lead going into the fourth quarter in the playoffs...

I still think losing rose is the worst..... My Condolences, Chicago Fans....
