08:23 AM ET 04.30 | According to multiple sources, Utah State will leave the Western Athletic Conference and join the Mountain West Conference beginning in 2013. "This is a great thing for Utah State," a source close to the situation told The Tribune late Saturday. ... The switch to the Mountain West could be a football-saving move for Utah State. In addition to losing Utah State and San Jose State, reports indicate that WAC member Louisiana Tech is headed for Conference USA. Coupled with Texas-San Antonio's recent defection from the WAC to C-USA -- the school had not yet played a game in the onetime conference home to Utah, BYU, New Mexico, San Diego State and others -- the WAC may soon cease to exist as a football entity.

So can you really call losing a team that never played a game in your conference a "real loss"?

OK, so what, let them merge with the least.

Nah, my bet is they form some sort of arrangement with the Sun Belt if they survive at all.

Texas State is set to announce move to Sun Belt today or tomorrow; another "loss" that never played a game in the WAC

Do you ever get the feeling that programs just don't want to be known as the WAC(king) champ...?

Never mind that loser Schembechler was a master choke artist, but the audacity to have a B1G division after your overrated coach? Laughable

Never got the love. Always thought of him as the Fred Akers of the north.

Just to stir up the TSUN folks while waiting on folks on the west coast.
