08:39 AM ET 04.30 | Someday, perhaps soon, the Eagles may have to retire another jersey. The Eagles were going nowhere slowly when Donovan McNabb came aboard in 1999. Like him or not, he turned around the franchise. Who has done more for the Eagles, McNabb or Brian Dawkins, who gets his No. 20 retired during festivities at the Sept. 30 game versus the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants? "I don't know. At this point it's nothing that I need to think about," McNabb said. ... For now, McNabb is in semi-retirement. He appeared to be in decent shape, yet offered no clues about his future and if playing quarterback again was an option. "I'm not here to announce anything," McNabb said. "It's about Brian. In due time, notice will be out there about what my plans are."

"If I retire now, I should be in the HoF in five years." - D. McNabb, 5

And I'm sure he thinks we're all waiting to hear this.

Waiting on a call from NFL Network now that Warren Sapp isn't coming back. Or maybe he has a shot at the MNF booth to replace Jaws.

I always liked McNabb. Good luck with him getting his number retired by the Eggles though.

I'll be very surprised if they Eagles don't retire McNabb's number. I don't know about the Hall, but that much should be a given.

That may still happen. As much as he didn't do as an NFL QB, he DID do as an Iggles QB, if that makes sense. He's usurped pretty much every QB record for the team from Jaworski and did take them to 5 NFC Championship games and 1 SuperBowl. Always short of the ultimate goal but it's still more success than many team QBs.

HOF might be a bit of a stretch, but retiring his number is the least Philly can do.

Besides, who else would want to wear it?

Philly's Buffet ( yes there is such a place) has already put Andy in their HOF.

Huh? Oh, right, that McNabb guy. What's he up to these days?

Probably 20 or 30 pounds more than his playing weight.

Not going to happen.

I don't think he'll even get in on the seniors vote.

Kicking himself for his last two wussy attempts at being relevant

"McNabb to announce plans"...of his retirement?

April 30, 2012  11:28 AM ET

McNabb needs to go away...his mouth has turned all of the people that rooted for him in past against him...he needs to realize he is no longer relevant...and Donovan the only Hall of Fame you belong in is the Eagles Hall of Fame and maybe the Syracuse HOF. Beyond that go away...

I thought you had to win something to have your number retired? No rings, one SB bust appearance, no MVP's... where's the beef? He had a few good years at Philly, not jersey retirement material. What needs to be retired is him... just go away.
