Angels moving to downtown L.A.?

08:14 AM ET 05.01 | The Angels are slumping and the Dodgers are streaking. The smiles should be wide and plentiful. The Dodgers' new owners should take over this week, meeting the media and greeting fans and officially liberating the team from its dysfunctional era. What could possibly wipe the smiles off the faces of Magic Johnson, Stan Kasten and Mark Walter? How about the Angels moving into a new ballpark in downtown Los Angeles, three miles from Dodger Stadium? ... AEG is the local expert at building and financing sports facilities. Several of the Dodgers bidders spoke with AEG about a possible new ballpark. Magic and Co. did not. Arte Moreno apparently did.

If NY can handle having the Yankees & Mets, then I don't see why LA can't handle having both the Dodgers and Angels.

The only question I have, is why would/do the Angels want to move back to LA????

May 1, 2012  09:18 AM ET

Another billion in taxpayer money for a new stadium that California cant afford

Looks like Dodger fans have someone new to attack in their parking lots

its easy to say than done,, but arte moreno, shouldn't move the halos from the anaheim area, the team has built their attendance in a very long time,,,,

May 1, 2012  11:45 AM ET

it appears to be, that the halos are getting out of the slumping rash, but as long their hitting coach, hatcher remains in the halos,,,, the team would continue to have hugh weakness in their offense!!

May 1, 2012  11:46 AM ET

just leave the angels team, right where they do feel confortable,,,

May 1, 2012  11:47 AM ET

mike trout got his first hit of the season, and that was a double,,,,,

May 1, 2012  11:47 AM ET

When Pujols homers then he can speak about relocation , how bout that ?

May 1, 2012  11:48 AM ET

the pitching has being great for the halos,, but the offense, has being mortal in too many past games!!

May 1, 2012  12:53 PM ET

.....mets, athletics, white sox, and angels should all leave town immediately....big waste of time....mlb still living in the past....surprised they dont have another team in detroit....need to relocate to mexico city, san antone, havana and caracas or guatemala city....

the rays had lost longoria to a two months on the DL,!!!

RAYS, were playing great baseball, but without longoria, gone for more than two months, it would take a miracle to keep those pesky rays about water!!!
