08:15 AM ET 05.01 | Very few of history's best ballplayers managed to play well in the majors at the age of 19. Do we know, after two games, that [Bryce Harper] is ready at 19? "The game tells us that," said Scott Boras, Harper's agent. ... He came to the big leagues because of unforeseen circumstances, only after injuries decimated the Nationals' offense. If he plays as well as he did in his first two games, he may be in the majors to stay. But we don't know. "I'm also reserved to the possibility that this may not be his breakout moment," General Manager Mike Rizzo said. "Like [Mike] Trout with the Angels, there could be a step sideways to take a leap forward." "More than likely," Boras said, "he's not going to be here permanently."

They took one look and said "kid, we're going to send you back down and don't come back until you lose the conehead look...not major league kid"

Sorry if it seems like I've been on another planet, but did he make his debut yet? And if so, how did it go?

He doubled off the wall in his first game

Let the kid tear it up in the minors and bring him up when he is a year or two older. He might be able to hit AA or AAA sliders and curve balls, but the are completely different from the movement the pro's put on their pitches. The Nats can wait.

He will be back in the minors eventually............ then when he returns to the majors................look out!

He did well - was 1-3 in both games - including an RBI sac fly. His defense was solid. Made a great throw the catcher dropped that should have been an assist.

If he continues to play this way - it will be hard to send him down. BUT - I don't think it will stay that way. We will see.

he hit a double and threw his helmet off rounding first base like he's done something no one else has done.

I am curious how his veteran teammates took to his penchant for speaking in 3rd person

Is he doing that? Sounds like he got his training on humility from Rickey Henderson. "Rickey thinks Rickey is the best ever."

All I know is we have him and you don't. If he was on your team he would be purrrrty in your eyes.
