Cold-shooting Durant about to break out?

08:15 AM ET 05.03 | Kevin Durant sees the same thing everyone else does on the stat sheet. Like you, the three-time scoring champ sees his shooting percentages in this opening round series with Dallas and believes he's due. "I do," Durant said, "because I come in and I put in the work. It's not like I'm just sitting around and waiting for it to come to me. I try to force it a little bit with my work. So if it comes to me, I'll know that's because I worked hard. ... It's just a matter of being mentally tough. I want to make shots. I want to be efficient. But I'm not right now. But I've got faith in myself and I'm positive that it'll turn around." Durant has made just 15-of-44 shots entering Thursday's Game 3 inside American Airlines Center.

Eh... whatever he's doing is working. They're up 2-0 and will only get better.... Looks like Dallas is about to be out in sweep style like they did to Lakers last year.

And yes - Durant or Kobe for MVP. Lebron's got too many good players around him to deserve something that signifies perseverence and hard work. If the league gives the MVP to Lebron, they will be rewarding the easy path. I don't think the league wants to send that message as it doesn't represent what the league stands for... F Lebron!

Smart money says the only "stat" Durrant is interested in is the bottom line in the box score.

Good Luck Durant...

Just Win, Bro.

He wont break out cause Marion is all over him on D. Marion should have been Defensive Payer of the year. The guy guards the opponents #1 shooter every night no matter what position the opponent plays.

With all due respect, this isn't the first time Durant has faded in the playoffs. Or hasn't anyone noticed? *Laughs* Maybe this is why *Crazy Russell* is the way he is. Maybe this, is the source of his frustration and why he believes he should be "The Man". Perhaps he knows something we don't and the voices in his head don't need to tell him. *\o/*

you have a point-jumpshooters go cold- it happensthat's why I don't think okc can win a ring as constructed, they have to go through 4 playoff rounds and hope they are 'on'the whole way through- that isn't easy

They don't have to be on the whole time...just 4 out of 7 games per series.

Every team has jumpshooters...every team is a jumpshooting team in the NBA...otherwise defenses would just collapse to the paint and no one would score....silly.

um- neither LA teams are, memphis isn't, SA isn't, Miami isn't, the celtics aren't, have I missed any?sure teams TAKE jumpshots-but no topteam RELIES on them as much as okc does-they have zero 1/2 court post offense

OKC is doing what they do best. They have two very good jumpshooters in KD and James Harden...speaking of Harden, he and Russell Westbrook drive to the rim quite a bit per game. This is OKC's inside game and it is different from other teams. OKC is still leading this series
2-0 and KD hasn't been shooting very well...that says alot about this team IMO. I don't think OKC will win it all this year, but I think they will make it to the championship game. We shall see.

QUOTE(#18):

But traditionally- playoff ball takes away both- especially the breaksand they also (typically - depending on whom you play) will take away iso drives to the hole. Which is why usually teams without a post player tend to fail in the playoffs

Exactly! By deploying a zone defense limiting inside play. For this reason, I think OKC's jumpshooting will be what carries them through the playoffs. Only time and games will tell.
