08:17 AM ET 05.03 | Nets general manager Billy King said last week he would attend the Euroleague Final Four in Istanbul, Turkey, ostensibly to meet with small forward Bojan Bogdanovic. But it will also provide King an opportunity to watch [Kirilenko] in person with the forward's team, CSKA Moscow, playing in the Final Four. ... [A Wednesday report] said that the Nets are nearing a verbal agreement on a three-year deal with the 6-foot-10 small forward, who had spent ten years playing for Utah before heading back to Russia for this past season. However, multiple sources said that while the Nets have monitored Kirilenko's play this season for CSKA Moscow, the report saying the two sides are nearing a verbal agreement is inaccurate.

I thought the whole free world plus some have seen "Linko" already.........Billy where have you been. Wallace and now "Linko", I mean are these really the pieces Williams want in order for him to play on a winner?...........He said the city is a plus but he wants to play for a winner. Deron if so, then we all know you'll be headed back home to Dallas, which quite frankly, isn't a bad idea at all.......take it!

No kidding Howard is not coming (unless they trade for him), because Howard isn't a free agent.

I thought they want to move forwards...why sign an old guy to a multi-year deal?

Good question. To be honest, I hadn't even noticed that Kirilenko wasn't in the league this season. I doubt that many other people missed him, either.

yes- and obviously the owner is russian...........

Yep......those are the main reasons for going after AK.....and maybe any other NBA quality Russian who's available.

........but fannies will come if they win and are competetive- not if they are trotting out an over-the-hill ivan drago

No doubt. even the Russian community will pass on the Nets if they can't change their losing ways. And.....there's a lot more fan-base in Brooklyn than the Russian community. The owner better not lose track of that fact!
