08:18 AM ET 05.03 | Perhaps a new month can cure what's ailing Jose Bautista. [Bautista] has been an everyday player for the Blue Jays for 14 months. And if you line up the months end to end and rank them by OPS, this April was the cruelest month of all. Bautista hit .181 with three homers, 10 RBIs and a .634 OPS. The worst month before this April was June 2010 when Bautista hit .179 with four homers, nine RBIs and a .693 OPS. "I'm not worried about my batting average or my numbers in April," Bautista said. ... "He looks like he's pressing too hard ... trying to do too much," said an American League evaluator on the weekend. "He needs to relax. He can't hit a three-run homer every at-bat."

Looks like since that story about sign stealers in the bleachers came out, it's been a rough road for Joey. I wonder...

Hey...it's still 3 more HR's than Albert hit in April.

Not to mention he's dragging down my fantasy team!

For what? Pujols?

What happened? He lose track of where his PED guy lives?

Almost everything he's hit this year is an infield fly. The pitchers have him figured him out. He needs to adapt, just make contact and quit trying to crush the ball. He has guys hitting behind him that can do the job, no need to try and carry the team. Relax and be more selective, quit throwing tantrums after every swing and miss. He seemed to take more walks last year. I think sitting out a game might do him some good.

Ya that is crazy. Funny how Joey Bats also has more than double the RBI that Cano does during his slump... which slump is worse?

The season is 162 games (way too many, IMO), and Bautista has played in 25 of them so far. It's a little early to call him done.
I have no doubt he'll end up with 40+ HR and 100+ RBI.

......ranger young hurlers were trying their best to get jose back on track .....he should start hitting from here in....

It's not just Bautista trying too hard, anyway. His biggest problem is that Lind is doing absolutely nothing behind him. Pitchers don't need to throw anything at him, as they have no fear of Adam Lind. His 18 walks in 25 games shows that.

Batting Encarnacion fourth, while Lind is slumping will fix that.

I agree... play Encarnacion at first and bat cleanup, trade Lind for a bag of chalk, and let everyone else on the bench take turns at DH. I'd use Omar at DH mostly though.
