08:19 AM ET 05.03 | Not only did a rally eventually fall short, but the Giants now also have to worry about Pablo Sandoval. Afterward, manager Bruce Bochy explained why Sandoval exited after his sixth-inning at-bat, a groundout to third base. He had severe pain in his left hand, and Bochy said, "There's a lot of concern here. We know what this guy means to our offense, our ballclub." Sandoval had a 20-game hit streak, the longest in franchise history to open a season, and is hitting .316 with five homers and 15 RBI, both team highs. Last year, he broke a bone (hamate) in his right hand while swinging a bat April 29 and underwent surgery May 3, a year ago Thursday. He missed nearly six weeks and was reinstated June 14.

He's done well in dropping some pounds in the off-season...

If he does have to sit out (DL) the Giants have to make sure to keep him clear of the Buffet :-)

QUOTE(#4):

EVERYONE should be worried about the "Panda".....................it's an endangered species for cryin' out loud! Furthermore, with it's drastically reduced territory to get PEDs the future looks grim to say the least!

They call him Panda because he's too busy sitting around eating (bamboo???) and doesn't produce.

Doesn't produce? Pretty smart.

Giants have had several tough injuries since winning the W.S.

Removing Sandoval from this line-up for an extended period of time would be really troublesome. Their offense is looking frightfully similar to what Giants fans have been used to for several years now.........In other words, painful to watch.

It would be nice to see Huff get back to it and for Freddy Sanchez get healthy and produce.

If there is a tendon to strain a muscle to tear or a bone to break- someone on the Giants is looking for it to happen to them. Besides that their fielding sucks.
