Baltimore's teenage phenom

08:20 AM ET 05.03 | Take heart, O's fans, for in Dylan Bundy you may have a phenom who might help distract from all that talk of Hall-of-Famers-in-waiting in nearby Washington. Through his first four appearances, South Atlantic League hitters were 0-for-39 against him. Asheville Tourists outfielder Delta Cleary Jr. broke the string with a single Monday night, but the overall numbers are still mind-boggling: Opposing lineups are batting .020 (1-for-50) against Bundy this season, with 25 strikeouts and two walks in 17 innings. True, it's a small sample size. But Orioles fans can take heart in knowing they might soon have an "appointment baseball" pitcher in their midst to rival Stephen Strasburg of the Washington Nationals.

First :-)

Why does ESPN do this to the Fans in Baltimore?

Getting their hopes up like this...

Kids in 'A' ball...

Well, if the South Atlantic League hitters can't get the bat on the ball against this guy, the MLB hitters don't stand a chance.

You must be talking about just the Twins, Royals, and Pirates, right?

Well, would you rather have them write on:a.) Albert Pujols' precipitous drop off and speculation that his prior performance was PED relatedb.) Chase Utley's knees and speculation as to when he'll be backc.) Ryan Braun's 3 HR nioght and speculation he took more 'medication' for the Herpord.) Why spring crocuses scare Zack Greinke and speculation that he's nuttier that a holiday fruitcake?

I'll choose E, all of the above.

For Fans in Baltimore it should be all about the Top 10 Bounty Hits that Ray Lewis laid on unassuming QB / RB's :-)

Ah, no worries - Angelos will do something to muck this up. By the time Bundy gets to Baltimore he will have run off Adam Jones and Matt Wieters. Can't be playing ballplayers what they are worth in Baltimore - that's crazy talk!!!

And thats why they are paying Roberts $10 million a year to be dizzy.

I saw his first outing of the season in Asheville. He's the real deal. He throws constant mid to high 90s with sick movement on his two seamer. The change and slider are nice as well, but i'm sure they'll develop those as he gets more PT.

Ray Lewis is a snitch that should have spent the prime of his career in jail had he not turned snitch. I guess it worked out good for him, but I never look at him as an all-time great, because the last 10 years shouldn't have happened.

Soon to be at Double A to join his older brother Bobby. Look at those stats....talk about overmatching hitters. He'll be at Double A before the end of this season, by mid season if he keeps mowing down anywhere close to this. Know this kid's dad, Dylan is one of the hardest working kids around.
