Key to Trotz catching the 'suspended two'

08:29 AM ET 05.04 | Ah, technology. What was the key to the Nashville Predators catching their wayward nightowls out after curfew? Depending on how you take an exchange between former Predator Jason York, now a radio host in Ottawa, and Nashville coach Barry Trotz, sounds like it was the hotel room keys belonging to Alexander Radulov and Andrei Kostitsyn. The two were busted for breaking curfew the night before Game 2 in Phoenix then suspended for Game 3, and now likely for Game 4. ... [Said Trotz:] "Yeah, well, you know, it's funny. With technology, all you have to do is go to the front desk. It's amazing that your key will actually clock you in when you leave and you go into your room. A little tip for anybody who's checking curfews."

But do they play next game?

I can't decide what's more ridiculous, a team having to put curfews on grown men or grown men not having enough respect for their teammates to actually stay off the town for a couple of nights. I hope whoever is the leader in that Nashville dressing room gave these two a nice earful on how disrespectful their actions were.

I agree. I remember in the 1970's when Bud Grant was losing 4 Super Bowls. he would keep the players away from their wives, etc. till after the game to "keep them focused".
Nonsense

And we saw how much Nasville missed them. A lot of people were worried about how Radulov would mess up the the team. I think their fears were well founded. Let them sit the rest of the playoffs.

It disturbs me there's easy tracking for such a little thing.

I liked Bud. Still do.

Trotz-key wouldn't think it was so funny if his team had gone down 3 games to zip to the Yotes.

me too. I was a big vikings fan as a kid (just got an authentic M&N Tarkenton jersey like I had as a kid)
Wasn't he a very successful CFL coach first?

And the other people were saying "All he has to do is come in and score goals. How could this not help them?" We see that it can.

And again last night, JR the voice of reason as to what you don't do in the playoffs. Say what you will about JR, he came to play in the playoffs, had grit and hardwork with his skill, and didn't go out in the playoffs! Plus, outside of Bo Jackson in Techmo Bowl, he was the best video game athlete ever.

If I was the coach, heck no.

Played and then coached the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Because of him and Joe Kapp I've been a Vikings fan for 50 years. My wallet disagrees.

Played for the Eagles also. And basketball too I think. You better look that one up if you're going to bet on it. :-)

This is just a simple misunderstanding. These guys simply didn't understand what Trotz meant when he said they'd have a key party at the end of the night. Their English no so good. Btw, heard Mrs. Trotz was suspended last game as well.

Will they play?? Will theynot play??? Music City is tired of hearing about it.....Preds brought them in just for situations like this....get on with the game...one game suspension for breaking curfew rule...not like they ended someones career....let them put on their skates and lets play hockey....of course, Tootoo is a heavy fan favorite at Bridgestone.....no matter who skates, Preds still need strong D against Yotes.....and Rinne needs to be ready for an onslaught of shots.......

No, I believe you are right about the basketball also.
One of the over riding visuals in my mind from youth sports watching is Bud and his boys on the sidelines, smoke coming off of them all...fred Cox, Paul Krause, the purple people eaters...great images...and Bud with the hoodie pulled up over his hat...long before belechik

so thenm it's safe to say that since the Preds won the other night without them, they will NOT be a pre-game "keys to the game" feature?
