Laich dreamed season was over

09:41 AM ET 05.05 | Brooks Laich snapped out of a deep sleep Thursday morning -- OK, late Thursday morning -- probably thinking there was so much to do. Like cleaning out his cubicle. Like polishing his golf clubs and setting up tee times. Like looking into off-season vacations. Because, for one split-second, as he wiped the sleep out of his eyes, Laich actually thought this was the off-season already. It was an easy mistake to make. Hours earlier, just before the clock had struck 1 a.m. on Thursday, Laich and his Washington Capitals had lost a gut-wrenching 2-1 decision in triple overtime at the Verizon Center, a demoralizing defeat that easily could have sucked the enthusiasm out of his team. "I woke up and for some reason I thought the season was over," Laich told Washington reporters after the Caps workout in Arlington, Va. "I had a deep sleep, I had a long, deep sleep and I thought the season was over."

I think the Caps also need to consult Paul the Octopus before the next game, just to make sure.

Lucky for them they have a clairvoyant in their line up.

Trotz made a mistake, he already gave the punishment, the doubled it, causing unease, the team not knowing what to count on.

Only if you lock Radulov & Kostitsyn in a room with her.

That kind of contact is not necessary. This thing gets pregnant by osmosis.

Isn't Kessel with Team USA?

Don't think so. Just because he's a product of their development program do you really expect the selfish prick to give anything back?

May 5, 2012  12:01 PM ET

Hey, Kessel isn't selfish Look at all the goals he helped give the other teams this year!

May 5, 2012  12:03 PM ET

Isn't admitting this stuff taboo in the league? Kiss of death I'm telling ya!
