09:55 AM ET 05.06 | The Wild, we're told, plan to pony up for both Zach Parise and Ryan Suter if the pre-eminent impending unrestricted free agents get to July 1, which should make for an interesting competition if the Red Wings join the fight for both, as they are likely to do, whether or not Nick Lidstrom retires.

Went to the Wilkes-Barre/St. Johns game last night. The Ice Caps beat the Pens 2-1 in OT. I'll tell you what Jets fans, there is hope for the future. The Ice Caps have a good team, but the goalie, Pasquale, was unbelievable. He was making fist pounding saves all night long. You know the kind when the goalie somehow gets in front of the puck and you're rooting for the other team. They named him the number 2 star (Trotter had both goals for the Ice Caps.) and the fans in Wilkes-Barre gave him a big hand when he came out.

Happy 40th Birthday Marty.

..but...but...but we were told the other day that Parise was surely going to become a Wing.

I've a feeling that the Wild are going all in for Parise whether Parise goes all in with the Wild not so sure

If the Wild can get both Suter and Parise, they instantly improve enough to get into the playoffs. Not enough to do anything there, but at least more revenue and impress the fans.

That was too long a stretch between Wild threads for my liking.

I didn't know that Marty played the banjo. I thought he was just in the skin flute section of the band. ( sorry Nard) ;-)

I would suspect some form of hallucinogen drug if both of them sign in the land of the lakes.

Parise is from MN and Suter is from WI. Wouldn't be that much of a surprise if they were to sign with the Wild. MN is a great place to live so screw off haters!!!
