08:14 AM ET 05.07 | If the results have many wondering whether something is amiss, Clay Buchholz says he feels fine physically. [Buchholz] once again Sunday fell far short of his billing, allowing five runs in 3 2/3 innings, and three home runs, in the Red Sox' 9-6 17-inning loss to the Orioles at Fenway Park. "Clay's performance is not what he wanted or I wanted it to be for sure," said manager Bobby Valentine. "He left a lot of pitches in a real hittable zone and gave up a lot of hard-hit balls." When asked if Buchholz was in danger of being removed from the starting rotation, Valentine said, "I have no plans to change him at this time." Buchholz is far from the pitcher who won 17 games in 2010 and management has to be wondering what to do.

In order for Buchholz to get his ERA down to his 2010 level, he will have to pith 95 scoreless innings of baseball going forward.

Morning Cat.

Again I will say this: something is wrong with Buchholz's arm. What do you expect when you keep throwing 91-92 mph fastballs down the middle of the plate? He used to pitch 94 mph. And Mr. Hoos, don't tell me it is the pitching coach, or that he just needs to work the kinks out.SlowOne, let's hear your analysis instead of all the typical good mornings to your fan club.

Hey. At least I HAVE a fan club.

I am starting to lose confidence in this motley group of players. As Sith would say:

"I find my lack of faith disturbing".

Yeah, it's hard to stay positive when they can't win a game at home.

4 - 10 at home. Disgusting!

Lets look at the bright side. If they keep playing like this, they will get first crack at players on the waiver wire.

I think that supposed home game sellout streak may be in jeopardy.

I'm glad we didn't stay at the tiki bar until the game was over, or we would have been wasted! 17 innings, and we still lost? Blah.

Once they went into extra innings, I just knew they would find a way to lose the game.

I think that streak is somewhat bogus, myself.

He is signed through 2015 after they extended his contract. What option? They have to hope he gets it back together, if he does not then all that is left is the aj burnett option, trade him for nothing and pay a lot of his salary.
