08:15 AM ET 05.08 | Since his call-up this past Wednesday, the Red Sox have on their hands an extremely hot young hitter in Will Middlebrooks. If he isn't careful, some AL pitcher is going to go all Cole Hamels on him and give him a Bryce Harper-like "welcome to the big leagues, son" pitch square in the middle of his back. It's probably not going to slow him down. Middlebrooks hit two more home runs [Monday] night. His first big league home run was a grand slam on Sunday. ... That's three home runs and nine RBI in his first four games. Kevin Youkilis has two home runs and nine RBI in his first 18 games. Nobody, starting with Youkilis and including Harper, looks good in comparison to Will Middlebrooks right now.

Well, right now is just a few games. But he's been fantastic so far.

Gees. Give him once around the league. It's been four games. Against the Royals and O's. That said, Youk can take his time coming back. He should be fully rested and healthy in time to be flipped to a contender in July.

I like the story where Will and his sister Lacey, who plays softball for Tulsa, hit HR's almost simultaneously on Sunday.

Last week, we were reading Harper being compared to Mantle. This week Middlebrooks is being compared to Harper. Don't let it all go to your head, Mr. Harper. You are last week's Will Middlebrooks!

He wasn't being compared to him, just the comment that a old skool tough guy wannabe like Hamels may plunk him for daring to play well.

The fact they still employ Tomase tells me all I need to know about their sports reporting.

The kid looks good but this has happened before where someone gets called up and does a great job, but no matter how good he does they won't sit Youk (whether he desverves it or not). Just enjoy the ride while it lasts Will.

Oh god, Razor and StupidMoron getting into a battle of wits. Let's throw alacran into the mix and hasten the end of the universe.

No one wins this, there are simply survivors.

Has the Herald ever stated why they didn't fire his sorry **** after the lies he propagated about the Patriots? People still cling to those lies like they are gospel.

The Pats should sue him simply out of spite.

Does anyone take that rag seriously? You can get more reliable info off of toilet paper.

In a recent survey dogs preferred to crap on the Herald over the Globe 3 - 1. Even dogs know there is only one good use for the Herald.

This was mildly entertaining. Would be better if someone smacked you in the teeth with the same soiled copy of the Herald. Thoughts?
