Miles offering unpleasant welcome to newcomers

08:27 AM ET 05.09 | Missouri, which has taken out billboards to trumpet the move, and Texas A&M are looking forward to joining the SEC, though it seems Les Miles is intent on providing a rude welcome. To stage a conference championship game, the NCAA requires a league to have two divisions of six or more schools that play round-robin within their division. [Larry Templeton, chairman of the SEC transition committee] said the SEC had some internal conversations about trying to change the rule, "but I don't know if we're to a position where the conference would produce that legislation." As for Texas A&M and Missouri joining the SEC: "I would say strap it up," Miles said. "They're going to really not enjoy their welcoming to this conference."

Sorry Les but YOUR conference invited them. Better talk to them.

Besides, Mizzou and Aggie will probably finish just about like they did in the Big 12-2 IMHO. Middlers.

Les is correct about them needing to man up, but being a little more neighborly about it would've been nice.

Something like "Welcome, we're glad to have you guys coming in cuz we needed more fresh meat, the old stuff was getting stale on us." Something nice like that.

Actually, not, they had to apply with no invitation, rules, we saw all this. They just wanted out of the horn express.

Even aggies aren't stupid enough to apply without already knowing they would be accepted. Face it, the SEC wanted them. They got 'em. Good luck.

Now JRM would not agree with that. He says they are that stupid.

Nope. Their stupidity actually only comes from their weirdness. Take that away and they are actually pretty smart. That weirdness takes them all the way down the scale.

Now that they're ours, I prefer to use the term "eccentric" rather than weird, thank you very much.

Wow! The deep south is sophisticated enough to use words like eccentric! Aggie is moving on up in the world then!

I'm sure the rank and file folks in sec country that are pictured so well on reality TV will have more colorful words than eccentric
