Rising prospect may receive Texas' offer this week

08:28 AM ET 05.09 | This could be an awfully big week for Fort Worth Southwest wide receiver Robbie Rhodes. [Rhodes] -- who says he was offered a scholarship by Texas late last week -- hasn't met UT coach Mack Brown yet, the offer probably will be finalized this weekend, when he visits with Longhorns coaches while in town for the state track meet. ... Rhodes was scheduled to visit the Longhorns for their Feb. 25 junior day, but a family situation forced him to miss the trip. The 6-1, 189-pound receiver is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the country and is the 75th overall prospect in the nation, according to 247Sports. Earlier this week, he said Texas, Baylor, TCU and Texas Tech are among his top four schools.
