08:25 AM ET 05.10 | There's more bad news for the New Democratic Party of Canada. The NDP ticketgate scandal continued to unfold Wednesday with revelations that three more Crown corporations bought Winnipeg Jets tickets for their senior brass and cabinet ministers on the public dime. And one cabinet minister said they did it to help the Jets reach their 13,000-ticket drive goal. ... We told you Tuesday the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission snapped up 440 prime Jets tickets almost entirely for their senior executives. We've since found out the Manitoba Lotteries Corp., Manitoba Public Insurance Corp. and Manitoba Hydro have all spent public dollars to obtain expensive tickets to the NHL games, thanks to the findings of the Canadian Taxpayers' Federation.

This is more a political thing than a hockey thing.

But, since we're on it, this is why you never, ever, EVER vote NDP.

Maybe Phoenix should try this............

Government corruption is a given no matter the country or the party. It is one of the reasons we need less government, not more.

This is an argument the NDP would not agree with. And now we know why. So they can get hockey tickets in Winnipeg.

naw!!! Government officials helping themselves to public funds? That never happens!

Keep voting out incumbents. Easier said than done.

Ok...only political statement of the day...I promise:
1) Not all incumbents are bad. I was sorry to see Richard Lugar lose, and I don't usually vote on his side.
2) Gov't isn't always the problem...inefficiency and greed usually are
3) Funny thing that most of those screaming against "gov't intrusion in our lives" are usually the ones pushing the so called "morals laws". I think what they really mean to yell for is "Gov't out of business"...but that rings a lot less sincere.

Done...I climb down from the soapbox that I didn't put up (for a change)

Dick Lugar might have been the greatest political name in history.

I like the barmaid in Quebec that became a NDP MP and had never been in her riding.

I can think of worse uses of public funds, like $10,000 toilet seats or $100,000,000 bridges to a village of 50. Usually in America the corporations buy up the seats and then use them to grease the wheels of the politicians.

Did you see the German Playmate handing out questions to the candidates in a recent debate they had? Now that's the way to run a debate.

And spent the part of her campaign partying in Vegas? AND DIDN'T SPEAK FRENCH in a riding that was 99.9% French?!

Or how about the 18 year old college student?

Thanks, Quebec, for being a beacon for democracy.

Nice to see that politicians are stupid in other countries, too :)

Here's the flaw in that argument:

Running the country isn't easy. If you keep voting out people with experience and replace them with newbies who don't know their ass from a hole in the ground, things aren't going to be run all that well. Instead of broad generalizations, maybe we can start supporting politicians who know how to do their job.
