08:15 AM ET 05.10 | It didn't take long for David Robertson, who gave up four runs Wednesday in the ninth, to blow his first save since Mariano Rivera went down with a knee injury. But [Joe Girardi] hasn't wavered in his support of Robertson. "It's obviously an adjustment anytime you move up in a role," Girardi said. "I have a ton of confidence he'll do a good job for us and he'll bounce back." ... Boone Logan knows it won't be easy. "He's got big shoes to fill," said Logan, who got a key strikeout with the bases loaded in the fifth. "Maybe he's putting too much pressure on himself. He's never been a finesse pitcher. When he just throws, he's unhittable. I think he's trying to be too fine."

You never want to be the guy who follows the legend. You want to be the guy, who follows the guy, who follows the legend.

So now the Yankees are dealing with what other teams are and that's finding a good closer. But typical media, the guy blows a save and it's the end of the world.

Which is why I would have made Soriano the closer. Knowing he would fail, and then have Robertson follow him instead of Mo.

Great sight for sore eyes, coming home just in time to see the knock...hee hee....

Well, the Mets have had such a positive history over the last 20 years, right?

Seriously.....one blown save and the media presses the panic button.

My how Bostonians change. Win a couple of times and you feel like the New England version of the '27 Yankees. 20 years is a lot easier to take than 80-90 years it took you guys.

THATS RIGHT, I WENT THERE!

Ya think throwing 25/30 pitches on Tuesday then pitching again on Wednesday had something to do with it? who knows?

How do those lousy hitters with RISP get off the hook? What, ya got to shut the other team out to win a game?

May 10, 2012  09:14 AM ET

Ask the pitchers just how much confidence they have in that offense? come on Joe, talk about them.

How about that Matt Joyce? Great win for the Rays last night.

Not to be difficult but technically speaking, weren't you a "50 year fan" like 4 years ago? Does the time/space continuum cease to exist when it involves you? Until you update that name, I am blocking your account.

I see it might be a lively one today...

To quote the great wordsmith Mark McGwire

"I'm not here to talk about the past."

If after two tries the pressure is getting go him ...then I think its time to try someone else...but who??? Kinda gotta like that the Yankees are in the same boat with a lot of teams now (trying to close out games)...

Robertson - had what, 24 scoreless innings in a row - puleeeeze.... Do they expect him to not ever be scored on?

That's why we call them Evil Empire Light. All of the obnoxiousness of Yankee fans with a fraction of the success.
