08:28 AM ET 05.10 | By the Olympic Games in 2006, Ryan Miller had become one of the top U.S.-born goaltenders in the game, but he'd have to wait until 2010 to prove it. [Miller] was the darling of the silver-medal winning U.S Olympic team. Eighteen months from now, when 2014 U.S. roster spots are being decided, Miller will have a fight on his hands just to make the team. ... You can be sure is that if the Americans were playing an Olympic gold medal game tomorrow, Quick would be the U.S. goalie. He has been spectacular enough this season that he has earned the title of the best American goalie right now. But his place on the 2014 U.S. team is far from assured.

The one named after a Canadian, lives in Canada and is usually won by a team consisting mostly of Canadians?

No, the one that hasn't been won by a Canadian based team since you were in pre-school.

BTW Danny, Lord Stanley was an Englishman, not a Canadian.

Actually, first grade sir.

And I couldn't care less who wins the damn thing. If it isn't Toronto, I get zero joy out of it. And seeing those electronic billboards here last June saying "Go Canucks Go" before game 7 made my blood boil like I didn't know it could.

Canadian political role. Makes him Canadian enough (even the first PM was born in Scotland..).

I was close!

Besides I'm just yankin yer chain. If Boston is out I usually enjoy the playoff hockey and hope that a few teams I can't stand don't win. Other than that I'm ambivalent about the whole thing.

Let me get into this America/Canada bashing:

If the Kings win the Cup this year, Quick has got to be #1 in line to be the goalie.

Wonder if Bryz will be the goalie for Russia :)))
