08:10 AM ET 05.11 | Minnesota -- legislatively, anyway -- has its new NFL home, but it will need to make interim shelter arrangements. The Vikings and the University of Minnesota have announced a preliminary agreement on the NFL team's use of TCF Bank Stadium during construction of a new Vikings stadium. On Thursday, May 10, the U released details of a letter of intent governing use of the stadium. ... The Vikings could lease the stadium for up to four consecutive NFL seasons anticipated to start in 2013; or, they could play at the facility for all or part of one season, anticipated to be 2015. Under the deal, the Vikings would pay rent of $250,000 per game, plus an estimated $50,000 from shared concession, advertising and other revenue.

So... $8M rent for four years while the new barn is being built...

Seems pretty fair to me.

Sounds like the U is going to make some money off this deal.........

Maybe they can develop with the Big 10. By the time the stadium's finished, maybe they'll be able to compete at the next level.

The better ticket value will be the University of Minnesota games.

Exactly. When you consider how revenue they'll take in per game, $250K is a bargain.

No matter how you slice it, now tgat rhe Vikes are off the list, LA will now need another market to steal a team from.

Things haven't stabilized in St. Louis. Don't forget they sold their souls to the league offices for the next 3-4 years to take the England game. That takes away a home game from St. Louis each of those years. That was to try to force the stadium issue.

Minnesota won't have any players left after those four years.
