It was a snapshot of a season that has gone terribly wrong for the woebegone Twins. A pop-up no more than 10 feet in front of home plate in the fourth inning finding turf instead of leather. A run scoring from second. Players stunned. A fan base sickened. It was the worst play among many candidates in a 6-2 loss to Toronto, one that gave the Twins their 14th defeat in 17 games. "Things happened out there," manager Ron Gardenhire said, "that really don't happen in high school." The first boos were heard four batters into the game. ... This game deserved circus music for a soundtrack.

You can blame ownership for their problems. In this new age of baseball you have to spend money to keep your cord of good players not sit on it. That is the reason the Twinkles are the worst team in baseball.

I was at the game Wednesday night. Mass exodus out of the stadium after bottom of the 8th. Everyone knew that game was over. When your team is batting .238 and pitchers ERA is 5.46.....you won't win much. May break Tigers 119 losses from '03.

Lifelong Twins fan here-- this is absolutely the worst team in our history, possibly major league history. If I owned the team, I'd spend next winter buying some new players. If i couldn't afford it, I'd sell the team because that's what it takes nowdays to field a major league team----money.

Twins payroll is higher than Cleveland, Baltimore, Tampa and Washington. All teams that are winning. I think it is quality rather than quantity.

thing that drives me nuts is we have revere in the minors, plouffe playing occasionally. this is a lost season. heck, we may be looking at a lost half decade. at least get the former number one picks out on the field to see who is a legit big leaguer and who isn't.

i really disagree. i say the problem was the front office. should get better now that terry ryan is back, but bill smith made some decisions that really set that franchise back, undid 10 yrs of hard work on ryan's part. and you'll never hear ryan say it for two reasons, one he has class, two smith is a friend of his.
