08:32 AM ET 05.13 | Despite his eccentric methods, Knicks owner James Dolan always seemed bent on breaking the Knicks championship drought, now at 39 years. Often, Dolan went about it the wrong way, but money never was an object. That is why close Dolan watchers are stunned the Knicks owner didn't at least put a phone call out to Playa del Rey to gauge if Phil Jackson had interest in returning to the Knicks. Would he accept the Knicks job? Jackson's girlfriend Jeanie Buss is unsure. Nevertheless, there have been indications Jackson would not have hung up the phone if the Knicks called.

Doland is foolish in this regard. This reeks of the stinch of Indiana in relations to Zeke, Grunwald, and Woodson.......pathetic.

You people call my posts anger...I can assure you that they're not! I simply state facts as in the case of the Nuggets. Yeah, the same Nuggets who people refer to as a good team.

Heres a fact for ya: The Nuggets are exactly where the Knicks are and that is home, watching the rest of the playoffs after an early first round exit. Both the Knicks and Nuggets shouldn't feel lonely in this regard because there are exactly at present six other NBA franchise engaged in this activity as well.

Fact two: Both the pre Melo Nuggets and the post Melo Nuggets suffers the same fate.......you guess it..... early 1st round exits. Suggestion for you Nuggets fans, get an early start on telling the rest of the world how much you've improved come year three post Melo. This rant will bello as will your yealry growth in NBAdom.

Summary: In the end you will only have one NBA champion and all else, including my New York Knicks will have failed, so there's no room for any team or city's fans to go around patting themselves on the back in light of they're failure to attain an NBA title...........kudos to this year's champion and its city!

The Knicks don't have the best player in the game. So I doubt Phil would want to go there. No Jordan or Kobe...

All about the Apple

Dude, stop trying to justify that trade...you're either zeke thomas with nothing to do on mothers day, or you're waiting for dolan to show up at your door and plant a big wet kiss on your forehead! that trade is, was and always will be an epic fail. It's tow years ago- get over it.

QUOTE(#6):

Phil has been fortunate to spend most of his coaching career surrounded by great players.

True...and the Knicks don't have the alpha-dog player like Jordan/Kobe that Phil has succeeded with before

Mindboggling. The richest franchise doesn't want to place a phone call to the BEST EVER coach!!!

Maybe the Hawks should try and get Nash and Phil Jackson.

I agree Dole, but Phil might like to take on the challenge regardless.

This cracks me up. The Bricks are as interested as they've ever been. but now they've heard Jackson wants no part of this mess. They don't want to put themselves in position to be turned down publicly
