10:08 AM ET 05.13 | Houston Dynamo team president Chris Canetti said Saturday's opener at new BBVA Compass Stadium was a signature moment for a team and a sport he thinks will continue to grow. "This stadium provides more than stability. It provides an incredible future for growth," he said. "MLS is going to become the second most popular sport in this country at some point, behind the NFL. People don't believe me. They don't want to accept it. But I'm in the middle of it. I'm seeing what happens. We're thinking big here. We're not happy just being stable."

Here Here! If the MLS we're a stock, I would buy it right now. If the NFL we're a stock, now is the tme to sell.

Remember folks: Buy low, sell High!

i don't see this happening until mls can command the sort of tv contracts that the other major sports leagues do...i think it's 15-20 yrs out, at least.

I feel sorry for Bolton fans... the first goal should not have counted and the plenty was a little soft.

Soccer sucks. Any game that can end 0-0 is not for me. It will never compete with the other big sports in the U.S.

I'm sure it seems like soccer is the (2nd) biggest sport in America if you're surrounded by it 24/7. Take a road trip to middle America and see how popular it is there.

Did he play in enough games to ever get a medal?

Dzeko wins championships. People will remember the Aguero blast to win the game, but Dzeko's header changed everything. The team looked lost and defeated before the tying goal.

Sounds VERY optimistic to me..... While soccer is a great sport to play, there just isn't enough action and scoring for most US fans. It's all about action/contact/scoring in the United States. I actually see Rugby coming up and passing soccer before soccer makes the "big four".
