Sveum: Soriano's bat too big for his own good

08:13 AM ET 05.14 | At 36, is it time Alfonso Soriano lightens his load a bit? [It's] the middle of May, and the $136 million man still hasn't hit a home run yet. Soriano did come through with an RBI double that touched the wall at Miller Park during Sunday's 8-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. Perhaps the next 112 at-bats will be a different story. "The fact of the matter is fastballs are getting too deep," manager Dale Sveum said. ... [Sveum] has suggested using a different bat. Soriano has been open to the idea and made some changes. But Sveum said Soriano "just didn't go as far as I wanted." "There's no question I'd like to see a much lighter bat," Sveum said. "He has adjusted a little bit, but I think a really smaller, lighter bat would help a lot."

Soriano always has and always will be somebody who care about nobody but himself. It's his way or the highway. Another player that had one great season, got his money and became another overrated player that never earned his money.
