A fit for Youkilis in Chicago

08:09 AM ET 05.15 | Continued success for Boston rookie Will Middlebrooks may help spell the end of Kevin Youkilis in Beantown. The Boston Red Sox almost certainly have to trade [Youkilis], and you'd think the White Sox would be interested. It's not so much that Youkilis is a perfect option for Robin Ventura's team but adding a veteran through a trade of convenience -- like, for instance, Youkilis for Matt Thornton -- makes sense given the current situation. ... Youkilis is eligible to be activated today but won't be. He just resumed baseball activities -- batting practice, fielding grounders -- over the weekend and is probably headed for a minor-league rehab stint, like it or not. The White Sox need to be there to check him out.

Youk's contract is up at the end of the year. Red Sox will weigh any trade offer against the prospect of getting a compensatory 1st round draft pick when he leaves as a FA at the end of the year.

He needs to go to a team that needs a first basemen or a dh. His body won't hold up to the rigors of playing 3rd base. It shocks me to see how some current players break down, but Cal Ripken was able to play in all those games during his streak.

Broken down players? Sure, send them to Chicago

I think you are right there. If they want to keep him off the DL, first is where he should be.

The White Sox are trying to develop Brent Morel at 3B. Also, the team has two 1B/DH with Konerko and Dunn. We don't need another out of shape tub of old.

Trade him to the Nats. I understand they are looking for a catcher/ 3B

I think this is the biggest Rumor this year in baseball. Although GM Williams is easy don't say never remember Jake and his big contract.

I don't there's many teams that will give up much for him. He hasn't looked good in a year now, gets hurt a lot and seems to have a poor attitude.
