Cutler worried about Bears' offensive line

08:02 AM ET 05.15 | On the upside, his thumb is fine. As he gushed over the possibility of a dynamic offense, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler tempered his enthusiasm slightly when it came to the offensive line. "The offensive line is definitely going to be a concern," Cutler said Monday, "and seeing where those guys fit in and seeing what five we go with. You know, if Gabe (Carimi) comes back, if J'Marcus (Webb) pans out (and) Chris Williams, where we're going to put him ... there are some question marks there." ... Cutler assured his surgically repaired thumb is fine and ready to go. Then the offensive line became a topic of conversation. During the team's offseason workout program, veteran center Roberto Garza apparently has been the only lineman to consistently work with the first team.

It's been a problem since he's been there. You have to wonder about the Bears' organization if they don't seem to be dealing with it.

Talk about windows closing. It's tough enough to be in a division with Green Bay and now Detroit. When you're hurting yourself, playoffs are just a dream.

Everyone who follows the NFL knows this.

Tough position to be in. I don't like Cutler; always thought he was less than touted. But he's got a legit concern. It gets worse though because if you complain about the guys protecting you, you feel like Paul Crewe in The Longest Yard.

Gotta have an O-line for that, too.

May 15, 2012  08:52 AM ET

He's been worried about it since he got to Chi-Town.

May 15, 2012  08:58 AM ET

you'd be worried too.

The Bears' offensive line doesn't seem very concerned about Cutler.

May 15, 2012  09:12 AM ET

The Bears' #1 draft pick went for a LB who Lovie Smith wants to convert to a DL; the rest went to defensive backs, WRs and a fullback... nothing for their most glaring weak spot. I'd had high hope for the Bears first draft with a new GM, and it left a lot to be desired. I don't know what they're thinking about at Halas Hall...
