The flaws in Davis' game

08:08 AM ET 05.15 | How times have changed for Anthony Davis, who three years ago was 6-foot-3 high school guard. [Now, at] worst, he is compared favorably with Marcus Camby and Tyson Chandler. At best, the name Tim Duncan rolls off some scouts' tongues. The only question NBA scouts have about him is whether he'll run into trouble early in his pro career with the league's bigger, stronger power forwards. "The games that he struggled in in college -- at Indiana, where he struggled with Cody Zeller, he was in foul trouble the whole game -- and he really struggled against North Carolina," a Central Division college evaluator said. "He had the great block (to preserve a 73-72 victory in early December), but he really struggled."

Everyone knows Davis is not gonna come in the NBA in year one and be a Howard or Duncan for that matter, so really, ask yourselves this question T&R.......exactly whats your point with this thread?

May 15, 2012  08:27 AM ET

Not to mention he has no post game or any go to moves. He may be overrated.

QUOTE(#2):

He will struggle for sure, hes a stringbeanBut all bigs do coming into the league the first few years until they physically matureThe bobcats should trade the pick to get more picks/players cause he will not help them win games soon and if they can get volume for him, to help reshape their roster....they should

There were a few bigs that didn't struggle like Shaq and Timmy. Fresh out the gate averaging 20+ ppg and 10+ rpg. Guys like Davis don't want to get in the weight room and build a foundation. That's exactly why they get thrown around like rag dolls. Also, they have no post moves. A fadeaway can't work all the time.

He does look like Camby when he started playing for the Raptors. At best Davis might be a "B" or "C" option on offence but should help on defence like Camby blocking shots.

Well in fairness to the kid.........Shaq played several years at LSU and Duncan played all four at Wake.......I'm sure the top tier institutions have state of the art facilities and trainers in place for them during their exended tenures there.

Milk. It does a body good.

I don't understand the love affair everyone has had with this kid. He is a good player but if i was picking first I wouldn't pick him. He will end being a role player for someone.

And you'd be the only one not picking him at number one. The kid is going to be a stud.

Yeah, just like Jamison.

QUOTE(#10):

He could be another Sam Bowie. The kid didn't really dominate much in college. Even Oden in college showed some dominance. Davis could be a mistake at 1.

Oh no you didn't!! Someone used the bad "O" word!!
Bad karma bro

Blah-blah-blah. I'll bet these are the same idiots that had "concerns" in '07 about how little Kevin Durant could bench press, while calling Greg Oden the next Bill Russell. I didn't see enough of Davis to make an intelligent asessment, but history tells me that these guys are wrong a lot more than they're right.
