08:22 AM ET 05.16 | One needn't tell Trevor Lewis about the tinder box of a hockey Game 2 became Tuesday. As soon as Coyotes captain Shane Doan left the ice in the second period, his team's discipline -- and possibly the series -- left with him. ... Doan boarded Lewis, leveling his shoulder into Lewis' numbers, and Doan was handed a five-minute major and a game misconduct. "He turns. He looks right at me. I didn't even look at him again," Doan said. "I was looking at the puck, because I was trying to poke the puck free. He turns away as I'm coming in." Even though Lewis suffered only a cut on his nose, the play could be reviewed by the NHL and result in a suspension for Doan.

Wow, the Coyotes better figure out a way to neutralize L A's forechecking and transition games or they are going to get swept. 2 games at home and they hardly look like they belong on the ice against the Kings so far.

The Kings have been the most dominant team in the playoffs, so far.

Kings are on a roll and whoever comes out of the East, they better have their"A"game from the drop of the puck......playing very physical....and a hat trick??? wow....

Its crazy how good they are right now. Doesn't matter who they play, they are dominating them.
As for the Doan hit, that was a joke, the player turns his back to him at the last second. Players should know better then to do that. And the ref gave a 5 minute penalty for that. BOOOOO

As a long suffering Kings fan -- I still do double takes when I see comments like this. While I agree they have been the most dominate team so far -- there is a little voice in the back of my head telling me not to get my hopes up

And they get rewarded, so players are going to keep doing it.

And how about this 'diving' call................

Somewhere Billy Smith is smiling.

I don't know. I'm not a big fan of these guys turning their backs to the play knowing they are protected by rule, but this one seems to me that Lewis was fumbling with the puck in his feet and Doan did lower his shoulder right into his numbers. It wasn't a glancing blow or anything like that, Doan hit him a solid shot.

I can't say I'd be complaining if it had only been a 2 minute boarding call, but I can't seem to get myself all worked up over the 5 and a game penalty that was called.

I thought the later hit on Brown was pretty bad though.

the kings are going to win the cup, they remind me of the bruins last year. They are big and skilled and play all three phases of the game the right way.

Can't understand how Brown gets a penalty there???? Smith whacked him a good one for sure, right in the back of his knees.

The diving call on Dustin Brown is a hard one to figure out.

You should help them along and then throw batteries at them as they go down.

Did I just say that out loud?

im not sold on smith, the guy is massive that's why he is a decent goalie. He's been a backup his whole career, and is now thriving in an area where people didn't know what ice looked like until the playoffs started. But now the pressure is building in him and his true talent is coming to the surface.

You can relax and get those hopes up. Unless something catastrophic happens, like serious injuries to half the team, the Kings will be in the Finals and ... they'll beat them too. I don't see NJ or the Rags stopping them. They're too good right now.
