08:23 AM ET 05.16 | Among the mix of Caps least likely to return, we find Tomas Vokoun. [Vokoun] said Monday that he didn't see a future with the Capitals. "I wasn't plan on being back here anyways," said Vokoun, who added that he was happy to see [Braden Holtby] to play well. "For me, it was never intention to be here more than a year. ... I was looking at it as a one-year thing and I'm sure that's how it's gonna be." Given that both Holtby and Michal Neuvirth are under contract through the 2012-13 season, it appears that the Capitals depth chart in net at the NHL level is set, even if General Manager George McPhee isn't divulging details about his offseason plans.

Not if he leaves the 5 hole as wide open as he's showing in that pic.

It will be interesting to see if Holtby can keep up his level of play or if he'll turn into the latest version of Varlamov.

Everyone makes fun of how Philly chews up goalies but the Caps aren't far behind in that department.

Perhaps there is a bigger reason they all want to start jumping ship?

But nobody's making $51 million for 9 years (with 8 more to go). Vokoun was signed with the intention of being there for one year only, a # 1 draft choice is coming for Varly and Neuvirth is under contract. Holtby is 22 years old (Bryz is 31 with millions to go on his deal). I'm happy with the situation.

I concur.

Time to change the avatar Slappy?

I think you're right. I'm deciding now and will make the change in the next few days. It's between a ferocious shot blocker or Semin's purse..............gotta think about it.

The puck is in his glove, so it's good ;)

I believe us new age sensitive guys refer to it as his satchel or man-bag.....Semin and man-bag kinda go together anyways

He'll be a good pickup for someone.

May 16, 2012  10:35 AM ET

So what he meant: "This was only going to be one year because I couldn't believe that there wasn't a market for me. I was going to play myself into a huge dollar contract elsewhere after this year. It just turns out it's only one year for a different reason."

Your choice to win the U.S. Golf Open was already taken. You'll need to check back in over there and pick someone else.

Semin and Vokun hardly qualify as "they all." No one will even notice when they're gone.

Seeing as Slappy seems taken with Alex Semin I'm guessing it's Michelle Wie.

Never know. Depends on how they thrive somewhere else, and how the Caps do w/o them and what the Caps do in the off season.
