Playoff MVP isn't a young gun

08:12 AM ET 05.17 | With the Clippers and Thunder led by young stars who might soon take over the NBA playoffs, a blast from the past has the Celtics rolling. The star of the playoffs isn't [Kevin Durant or Chris Paul] or anyone on the Heat. It isn't one of the up-and-comers, the next generation that's pushing out what, in the mid-1990s, had been the NBA's most pivotal crop of young players, maybe ever. The star of these playoffs is the old agitator, Garnett, who tore a possibly irreparable hole in the Sixers with 27 points and 13 rebounds Wednesday night in a 107-91 beatdown that gave the Celtics a 2-1 series lead. "We worked so hard to get where we are at," Garnett said quietly, almost in a whisper.

Celts looked real good last night, but no one has ever won a playoff MVP after 3 games in the Conference Semi's. They are beginning to have that "team to beat" look, but there is still a long way to go.

KG has absolutely looked the best in these playoffs so far and if he continues doing such, there's no question in my mind that a playoffs MVP would be worthy. Great job KG.

Troll........Theres this troll Tritons who has mysteriously disappeared and theres this person troll Doctor Pepper who has appeared. These coincidences happened right about the same time. One perculiar thing though, Tritons after being called out and being exposed for trolling by others on this site, he mysteriously disappeared. The second perculiar thing happened, Doctor Pepper appeared and now has begun his relentless trolling of me. I'm wondering.....are these one in the same?............In any event..............

Summary: Trolling is something I do not engage. Further I have ignored both of these persons and they will not accept moving on and that I have not use for THEM.

If you change your profile name and not your email, your comment counts stays the same....its just you name has been change......FYI troll.

Nothing like winning and smelling the Finals to make a man young again!

Not sure about you, Shad, but the win in Philly has me feeling a lot better about our chances.

Now if Bosh just stays out of it I think our chances are damn good.

It looked like Garnett and Pierce see this year as their last chance for a ring and aren't going to let it get by them.

As far as Bosh goes, Charmin is tougher than him, so I'm not too worried about him. The cheap shots from Wade are a different issue, it cost the Celts last year.

The C's are a determined bunch, and the Big 3 may be looking at this playoff run as their last hurrah, but the deciding issue may be whether they can stay healthy enough to last.

They do have some more depth than they've had in the past. Bradley looks good and Bass plays well in stretches as well.

The few extra parts they have now may get them thru the playoffs. Then all the retirements free up all that cap space for them to rebuild.

If all of the big 3 retired after this season with a ring, I wouldn't be mad at all....

Talk to me when he does this against an elite team... they don't have anybody that can guard him on either the Hawks or the Sixers... like c'mon man...

The guy has been doing it against all comers for almost 20 years. He doesn't need to prove it to anyone... Least of all idiots that still question his talents.

Stay Stupid, my friend!

I think they will represent the east. Miami's 2nd ring just disappeared w/ Bosh going down.

To tell you the truth, I think I'm more scared of the pacers than the heat.... The pacers are a more complete team and they have a great bench....

This troll thinks he's in my head......NOT...........Tritons/Doctor Pepper you've been exposed....move on!

who'd have thought that Doc's limiting of KGs minutes all year would pay off ?- even though I know you don't like doc....you HAVE to give doc credit for that

He took The Route of Ol' Popovich And Started putting minute caps on the big 3.... and so far it's been working.... Doc is a genius out there....
