Michigan-Notre Dame series in jeopardy?

08:18 AM ET 05.17 | Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon called the contract with the Irish an "evergreening" one, but just how evergreen is a matter of conjecture. [Brandon] offered little clarity on the future of the Notre Dame series besides a general tenuousness of sorts: It remains intact on a three-year rolling basis, meaning either side can opt out of the series with three years' notice. So far, no one has, and Brandon wasn't playing soothsayer to know if either side ever will. "What I personally know at this point is that we're going to play for the next three years," Brandon said. "I don't have any control over what Notre Dame may be thinking moving forward beyond that. And the world is changing pretty rapidly."

As far as old rivalries goes this is spot on. Speaking of oldtimers, when I was at ND, State was a bigger rivalry than even USC and we didn't even play Michigan. Hate State Week was 7 days of rallies.

Pretty Nebraska was in the Irrelevent 12 championship game, then got smoked in the Big Ten the next year...Texas is trash, and OU is a pre season pretender every year

Ur a joke, afraid of OOC scheduling? Dude get in a conference then talk. Dont make you bums look too good then, so I guess since we are scared of getting beat its good to lock ND up for a long contract.

The three year deal has a lot to do with conference situations, but if anyone pulls from the rivalry it's Michigan. Despite the last three years of Michigan winnings, Notre Dame lead all games with a minute left. Especially the 09 and 11 seasons - the Irish just chocked. Michigan would prefer an easier non-conference schedule like much of the SEC, while the Irish would replace Michigan with a Texas or a consistent OU. Continuing their difficult schedules -- this year the Irish play five teams in the top 15 -- brutal.

why go on a road game to play bums who cant pack a 65,000 seat stadium? There will be more UM fans there anyway, so play at home In front of 115K.
