Alfredsson distraught after Sweden loss

Well, some of you fellas were not happy about the relevance of the stories we've been getting lately, even going so far as to ask for the obligatory "will he retire or won't he" stories.

Canada lost to Slovakia 4- 3 so i know how he feels. That puts Canada as only the 5th ranked team for the next Olympics.The creeping extinction of the superstar Canadian goalie is most to blame.That has cost the World Juniors team Gold medals 3 times in recent years , and now it is showing at the adult level. What kind of seed do we need to plant(semin reference noted) to grow a few world class tenders??

I think I would take the top 3 US goalies (Quick, Miller, TT) over any Canadian goalie right now. That's strange.

Exactly- kind of a crucial position for any nation

The Senators captain was described as being "distraught" as he told local media that "this might have been my last hockey game."

Well, Alfie, nobody will hold it against you if you retire. When you're done, you're done. No shame in that. You've had a good run, it's time to ride off into the sunset, which in Sweden is a lot longer that in Ottawa. Go for a sauna, a massage and some ice fishing in the fjords.

I think we needed a few higher quality D-men to step up and go to play for Canada Harry. Simple as that...but great Canadian goalies is becoming a power shortage in this Country...as for me, with Sweden, Canada and the USA all out...who gives a ****...for the rest of it.
