08:21 AM ET 05.20 | Ron Washington said he was trying to send a message to Neftali Feliz on Friday night with his early-removal from the Rangers' 4-1 win over Houston. Perhaps this is a sign they are on the same page: Feliz "absolutely" felt like that's what Washington was doing. Washington removed Feliz with two outs in the fifth and the Rangers' leading by two runs. Feliz had just walked a hitter with two outs for the second consecutive inning. After the first two-out walk in the fourth inning, Feliz received a visit from Washington on the mound. After the inning, Washington called him aside, along with an interpreter. "Oh, we had a deep conversation," Washington said Saturday. "He needed to hear how much guys were depending on him. We made sure to translate it. What I told him should resonate for days to come. The message got across."
