08:08 AM ET 05.21 | Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has his critics, those who point out that he lacks a perimeter game. There are some who think the Cavaliers should shy away from Kentucky small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist in the June 28 NBA draft. That opinion is not shared by Ryan Blake, senior director of NBA scouting operations. ... Blake said there's no clear-cut No. 2 pick in the draft. "It depends on what team is drafting and maybe some needs," he said. Blake listed four players who could be the second pick: Florida shooting guard Bradley Beal (6-3, 205), UConn center Andre Drummond (6-10, 251), Kansas power forward Thomas Robinson (6-9, 237) and Kidd-Gilchrist.

Weak draft if there is no clear cut #2

Not sure I'd call it a weak draft overall -- maybe more depth than being top heavy.

I think it you look at players taken with 5-15 picks last year ... compare to who is projected to be taken 5-15 this year -- this year's draft looks better. (but won't really know for a couple of years)

For example, Harrison Barnes probably would have gone around pick#3 last year (maybe #2 instead of Williams) -- this year, it looks like he will go 5-10.

The Hawks should trade jSmith to Wiz or Cavs and get the high drafts

#2 B. Beal, but I'm biased since I went to UF

Who'll go No. 2?

Depends on who ends up with the second pick.

All four of those guys plus Davis will be a bust , this draft class will turn out like the 2000 class , you heard it here first

Beal would look good paired with Irving.

You think so. I don't think all four will be busts. I had to look up the 2000 Class. Some solid vets still playing but the 2012 draft will suprise. I see some talented wings that could contribute but I don't see definate sure miss talent besides Davis. I don't know your definition of bust but I tend to think I define it as when people expect star potential and it never pans out, it usually involves the number one pick or reaching for a pick you could have traded down to get. If a whole draft class is average you can't really say they are busts the whole class is just not as good as say another year just my opinion though.

Really Thabeet bad come on now man. Thabeet even in college was getting pushed around by Dejuan Blair. GM's will always reach for a center, you can't teach height but he isn't really cooridinated and doesn't even rebound at all he plays much smaller than his size. If Davis is below average player but solid defender say Nick Collison level he would surpass Thabeet by a mile man.

Disagree...

Davis won't hit the ground running, but will turn into a serviceable player - maybe like Jason Thompson... But he's got to put on weight...

Why is Davis pictured and not mentioned???

Lazy Interns :-)

Kinda shocked to see so many who don't think Davis will pan out, the kid absolutely and consistantly dominated college basketball as a freshman. At his very worst he's a skinnier but more skilled Ibaka, and every team in the league would take a guy like that at his best he could be KG all over again.

To me busts are usually one of two types. Usually either tall guys that never showed much but are taken high on potential (Perry Jones/Drummond) or high usage scorers who aren't very athletic by NBA standards (Barnes).

With all that said as a few have said who goes #2 very much depends on who gets the pick imo.

This is why the NBA needs a rule that keeps players in college for a minimum of three years. All these guys have faults that could easily be fixed in the college ranks, and not be wasted on an NBA bench for three-five years. Consider the drafts of the nineties. Guys like Davis would be lucky to be a top five selection, and a guy like Kidd-Gilchrist would be a top twenty pick at best.

Who's the clear cut #1? Davis? My condolences to whomever ends up with the pick....

I picked a couple of NBA drafts at random -- Y2002 & Y1994.

Y2002 -- Ming, Jay William, Mike Dunleavy, Drew Gooden, Tshkiishvii, D. Wager, Nene, Wilcox, Stoudemire, Butler ... few note worthy players later in first round.

Y1994 -- Glenn Robinson, Kdd, G. Hil, J. Howard, S. Wright, L. Murray, Brian Grant, Eric Montross, Eddie Jones, ... later Jalen Rose,

I think this draft class will be at least as good as either of these. There will be a few busts -- not sure about any HOFers -- but some solid NBA players -- including Davis, Gilchrist, Barnes, Drummond, Robinson, ...
