08:06 AM ET 05.22 | Even if he was hoping to draft Miami's franchise QB of the future, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross isn't playing favorites. [Ross] told NFL.com and NFL Network that he expects Matt Moore to be the starting quarterback when the 2012 season begins. "I don't think they're going to rush (Ryan Tannehill) into anything," Ross said. "He's going to have to win the starting job. I think Matt Moore will probably be the starter, and I wish him the best." Asked when he expects Tannehill to take over the job, Ross didn't discount the possibility of Moore remaining the man in Miami. "Whenever (Tannehill) is ready," Ross said. "And if Matt Moore develops, so be it. We want a franchise quarterback."

Because Matt Moore is such a proven winner.

Typical Dolphins. How many No. 8 picks sit on the bench?

When your team's owner is dictating who your starter is, you are doomed.

You're speaking from experience?

Hopefully one of these QBs can read defenses better than Ross reads tea leaves.

But I doubt it.

He should just be his own GM and get it over with.

Floundering Fish.

Owner forces the football guys to draft the kid. Then the owner decides he doesn't want him to start right away, effectively wasting a top 10 pick. Look out NE, here come the Phins!

He was good enough to take the Dolphins out of contention for Andrew Luck and RG-III last season. Isn't that enough?

Oh, wait...maybe letting Moore start for the Dolphins is actually punishment...

Yup. He won't last the whole season that's what they're banking on.

Not yet but they should at least give him a shot. Tannehill will be a bust.

Or because it just doesn't matter

What a bs story, and everybody actually believes it. The owner is just giving his opinion, he has NO say over who will start at qb on the team. He's just saying what he thinks, but of course the media has to write something, so they put their twist on it, and ya'all think it's a fact. ha

Mat Moore finished the season on a roll and should start. Tannehill will have to earn the number one spot as it should be. Anyone who thinks Tannehill should start is a fool.

It was damn foolish to pick him at No. 8 to begin with.
