Rangers ready to bid for Parise, too?

08:27 AM ET 05.22 | Would Zach Parise cross the Hudson? Here's Parise, 27 years old and in the prime of his career, trying to help the Devils overcome the 2-1 deficit to the Rangers entering Monday's Game 4, and it's impossible to watch him in this series and not wonder what he might bring to the Rangers if they were to win the bidding battle for him. Through a spokesman, the Rangers and GM Glen Sather declined to comment on their possible pursuit of Parise. Earlier this season, Devils president and general manager Lou Lamoriello said he would not discuss any conversations he might have with Parise's agent, Wade Arnott, saying only, "Zach Parise is our captain. He's our leader. We want him to be here."

Nah, he's due to be in Detroit with Weber, Suter, and every other player in the NHL.

what a pathetic performance all around from The rangers. Del Zotto was awful, Torts was ridiculous, (sending out Rupp like the mayhem guy from the Allstate ad was classless) and could someone get out a milk carton for all of the forwards.
On the other side, nice to see that Kovalchuck still has that temper, with the equally classless spear of callahan, and brodeur is still a swine, knowing full well he was going o get a shot for mouthing off. Of course, he went down like a cannon ball hit him. I've been pushed harder than that in the subway. Just an awful...AWFUL performance. Ashamed of my team I am...(when did I turn ito Yoda?) What is it about Game 4 that turns this team into San Jose (it IS a playoff game after all)

Parise would look great on a lot of teams.
He had a very good game last night - I except this series to go 7 games.

agree, I did not expect the game to degenerate the way it did.
I was expecting yet another 1 goal game, but the Rangers imploded for this one

You speak the truth! But, beware of the wrath of Adolf-stche! Your remarks are enough to keep him shouting late into the night! ;-)

According to both sides, Brodeur didn't say anything to Rupp at all. So there goes that, but nice try on the mouthing off part. It's funny, Rupp skates around Brodeur is standing there and gets shoved and goes off balance. Doesn't pull a Henrik from game 2 when he flops after getting touched on the pad and still people complain about it. Rupp is a big boy and had a nice shot. Brodeur laughed it off during the press conference didn't make a big deal about it, and Ranger fans (not just you) still complain about Brodeur. Sorry he didn't better brace himself for an unexpected shot.

This is for Adolf-stache: The Rangers have no legs. The rangers looked tired. And now .... the Rangers have no class! ;-)

And according to Kovy a few shifts before Cally knocked him in the junk (do I know if it is true, no, I am just telling you what was reported). I guess after the (maybe it happened) junk shot and getting shoved in the face when he was laying down he had enough. Kovy has a temper, just ask Schenn. He also gets picks from his players too, just ask Torts.

This is playoff hockey. There is hate. Hate is good.

You also speak the truth. The Devils were the better team last night. I saw the DeBoer and Brodeur interviews. They both stayed pretty classy about the whole incident. They won. That's all mattered to them.

Oh! And ... the Rangers had no legs! ;-)

Now we're having fun.....

Just an observation: Even when he's smiling, DeBoer always looks like he's crying.

And when the Devils were getting blanked the game before they just kept playing hockey. If they did what the Rangers did last night, Torts would have thrown another hissy fit. Calls a timeout, sends his tough guy line out there. Rupp was looking to do something, It started on the faceoff if you watch, he threw to jab/shoves to the back of the Devil he was paired up with on the faceoff. If the Devils sent out a line like that in game 3 Torts would have whined like there is no tomorrow. DeBoer said what about that, NADDA.

just to keep the (hate) fun going, it's a lot easier to take the high road if you win.
Yes, The Rangers had no legs

I was kind of hoping for a MASH moment there. When Zale and Klinger were going to box, and they lined up and both punched Frank Burns (read: PM) in the face.

Go Devils!!

May 22, 2012  09:36 AM ET

I was praying Torts was going to grab one of the players sticks and start waving it at DeBoer. Openly rooting for the Devils blows but watching Parise last night was a lot of fun.

Spiny - question for you. Del Zotto was awful, yes. But how does Torts bench him for a prolonged time during the game and then Haglin gets a regular shift after taking two third period penalties? Also, the secon Del Zotto finally got a shift, the Rags scored?!

Del Zotto is a d-man, and played no "D" for very long stretches, lead to tghe 1st 2 goals
I guess in Hagelin's case, it was him trying to make something happen? One of those calls was a bit dodgy though.

Agreed. The penalty was pretty soft. With all the hacking that was going on with both sides you figured they would have let that one go. I guess the refs were sending a message.

If they want to send a message, let them go to western union. I can see why the payers and coaches are annoyed. What indeed IS allowed?
