08:05 AM ET 05.23 | Lions wideout Nate Burleson didn't make any excuses for the behavior of young teammate Titus Young. Young's emotions spilled out during a workout last week and culminated with him sucker-punching safety Louis Delmas. Young has not participated in the Lions' organized team activities this week, which are voluntary, and the team won't disclose when he's coming back. "It's one of those things that happen all the time," Burleson said. "When I played in Minnesota, we fought like every other day and that was the closest team I had been on up to that point. A scuffle that happens once at every eight or nine months here, that just shows you how rare it was -- we don't even do it that often."

"When I played in Minnesota, we fought like every other day..."

I guess the caterer had more detractors than just Moss.

Team fighting amongst themselves every other day, sounds like the Jets...

Invoking the team name due to lack of thread?

Thought this was a Redwings thread initially.

Coming from a guy who evidently has never been sucker punched or who is the sucker puncher.

It's a lot quicker than saying 'Excuse me, may I use the squat rack now?'

May 23, 2012  08:43 AM ET

Titus Young has to learn that is not the Lions way. That is stuff you save for the game.

I play pickup hockey. Being in New England, we have a lot of Canadians playing with us.

Slap Shot nailed it. You don't know hockey until you've seen a bunch of Frenchmen, screaming in French with the curse words in English, throwing punches. In the locker room. Before the games starts. With their teammates.

And after the game we all drink beers in the parking lot and not an angry word is spoken. I guess that's what it is to be guys.

Sounds like he fits in perfectly with the band of cheap shot losers they've assembled up there. The HC seems to promote it, so I come to fully expect it.

The Lions way? LMAO What losing for 50+ years? It sure isn't about hard nosed, well coached, stellar execution on the football field.

It's sad they have a ton of talent up there now, but the past coupple years have shown they've assembled a bunch of thugs, and a HC who can't control them.

I bought the Slapshot set on DVD a few years back. As with most, the original was the only good one. The sequel(s) tried to focus on the Hansen Brothers but both were complete failures.

The Lions are a young and immature team. They better get their emotions in check if they want to win the big games.

They were fighting over who got to ride the flying bridge on the "Love Boat".

Right. Who, after all, knows more about sucking than Roger Goodell?

THEY WEAR HELMETS... What an idiot- "I'm a wide receiver -let me punch a guy in the helmet! A broken hand? No worries- I was p*ssed off so it's all good!"
