08:13 AM ET 05.23 | With the acquisition of Chris Paul, the stakes were raised for the Clippers. In a moment, the path of the organization began to point toward competing for titles. "You can do it gradually, and we were trying. Or, you can do it in one fell swoop," said Neil Olshey, Clippers vice president of basketball operations. ... [Just] having Paul in a Clippers uniform changed the franchise. "I know the culture has changed because we went from a 'have to' organization -- 'I have to go to the Clippers,' 'I got traded to the Clippers,' 'I got drafted by the Clippers' -- to a 'want to." Guys want to be here now," Olshey said. "They want to play here." And Paul will serve this offseason as the team's primary recruiter. "I'll be the first one to tell any player that this is where you want to be."

He hasn't spent a great deal of quality time with D. Sterling, it appears...

Until Kobe Bryant calls it quits, LA will continue to be LakerLand first and then the "other" team.

He obviously doesn't live in one of Sterling's rental properties!

Who are you going to recruit?

Good question. What the Clippers really need doesn't exist.

With a season (though short) and a few playoff games under their belt, they should be in good shape to make a similar run next season... Throw in a Mid-level vet or 2, they should take teams like the Spurs & Thunder a few games deeper into the playoffs...

I'm not buying it. The Clippers have a horrible owner, who has repeatedly shot his own team in the feet for many, many years. There's a reason this team has never achieved much during his tenure. It's going to take more than one *ok* season before I believe that the Clippers have a changed culture and that they're the "place to be."

Give it a year or two till ownership screws this up. Again.
